Last night we were supposed to get a “historic” snowfall here in Manhattan. Instead we got a dusting. I’m not complaining. I’m just surprised. The weather models have improved so drastically that they get it right far more often than they get it wrong nowadays. Sometimes Mother Nature decides to just do her own thing. She did last night and made a lot of people and planners look foolish.
I hesitate to call all the hype and preparation yesterday “over reacting”. For a city like Manhattan, you don’t want to be caught off caught if you get clobbered. Though the paranoia was pretty much everywhere and this just proves my point the other day – you really don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, so plan, but don’t panic.
Anyway, there’s a nice dusting on the ground. At some point today we’ll take Bean and Sprout to Central Park to play in the snow. That part will be historic for me 🙂
