Exfm User Spotlight: kmccormi
Absolutely loving our User Spotlights. It never ceases to amaze me how powerful music is in people’s lives. Nothing comes close on an emotional level. That sentiment is echoed repeatedly when talking to people about their experiences with music. It’s never just “I like that song.” It’s invariably a song or musical event was seminal in their life or moved them to tears or gave them the strength to carry on. That’s the power of music and that’s why I love sharing those experiences with people so much. Nothing units us more than our love of music.
You should definitely read all of Kelly’s spotlight. It’s fantastic.

I felt like we were all cogs moving around in our own little circles, and that summer all of our cogs perfectly aligned - this group of friends and I had some of the most amazing hiking, climbing, and camping adventures all over the peaks of Colorado, in Moab, UT, and elsewhere, and My Morning Jacket was often the soundtrack to those long drives to trailheads or camping spots. My friends have great taste in music. I love the little “music” posse we have on Tumblr and how much we all enjoy feeding it.
Allo Darlin’ by Capricornia
You don’t get much more validation than David and Luke saying a track is legit. Enjoy and Happy Reblog Thursday.
Allo Darlin’ | Capricornia
What Luke said. This is a neat song.
The sound of this Brit-pop group reminds me of The Sundays.

So remember how I said I was busy? Yeah, I got married. This is the song that started the ceremony.
This is a must reblog. Congrats Andrew!
When They Fight, They Fight by Generationals
I remember Dan playing this in the office about six months back and saying to us we need to check them out. Then we saw them when they opened for Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr. They didn’t blow me away (I was there to see DEJJ so maybe I was biased). This track though is superb.
I can’t tell you how many great artists I’ve discovered with exfm. I mean, I literally can’t keep track it’s been so many. There is just so much great music being made and more importantly distributed (via the internet). Forgetting about great tunes you heard a while back is a wonderful problem to have. ;)

Last night I caught Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. at The Southern for the first time and had a blast. I almost bailed, but the late start enabled me to earn a hall pass. We started chatting it up with the band and their wives after the show. Real good people. They even let us try on their jackets.
I posted more pics and videos from last night on my live music blog.
